Production Tracking and Quality Control System

A manufacturing facility operating 6 production lines had limited visibility into production status and quality metrics. Supervisors relied on manual counts and end-of-day reports, making it impossible to catch problems in real-time.

Quality control was reactive—defects were often discovered late in the process or by customers. There was no systematic way to track quality issues back to their source or identify patterns.

Inventory management was disconnected from production, leading to material shortages that halted lines and excess inventory that tied up capital.

We implemented a production tracking system with IoT sensors and barcode scanning at key points along each production line. The system captured real-time data on production rates, quality checkpoints, and material consumption.

Quality control checkpoints were built into the workflow, with automatic alerts when measurements fell outside acceptable ranges. The system maintained complete traceability, making it possible to identify the source of any quality issue.

Real-time dashboards gave supervisors and management instant visibility into production status, while automated reports eliminated hours of daily data compilation.
